Prerequisites
Trainees must:
- Hold a valid class 1 medical,
- Hold an AIRBUS A320 Type Rating which has expired.

TRAINING
According to AMC 1 FCL.740(b), the type rating renewal programme is customised to the trainee profile (flight experience, elapsed time since the end of the validity of the type rating, date of the last flight, …) in order to guarantee safe flight operation of the aircraft type.
An evaluation of the trainee competency is set: Interview and/or systems oral evaluation and/or OTD training as evaluation.
Following the evaluation:
it may be possible to pass a proficiency check (appendix 9) without prior training.
or
a specific training programme, adjusted to the needs of the applicant, will be issued:
Systems review: 1 or 2 days,
Or/And Other Training Device (OTD) session(s): 1 or 2 sessions of 4 hours,
Or/And Full Flight Simulator (FFS) session(s): 1 to 3 sessions of 4 hours.
Depending on the profile, a complete Additional type rating can also be decided.
ASSESSMENT
Theoretical knowledge examination if theoretical course. FFS proficiency check.
