This training concerns TRI(A) (Type Rating Instructor) who wishes to act as TRE(A) (Type Rating Examiner).

TRE(A) AUTHORISATION: First delivery
Objectives
The aim of this course is to give the necessary assets to the applicant to assume the privileges of examiner.
Prerequisites
Any applicant for a first TRE(A) authorisation must:
- Hold a valid class1 medical,
- Have completed 1500 hours of flight time as a pilot of multi-pilot airplanes, as applicable, of which at least 500 hours shall be as PIC.
- Hold a CPL or ATPL license
- Hold a TRI certificate for the applicable type.
- For the initial issue of a TRE certificate, have completed at least 50 hours of flight instruction as a TRI, SFI in the applicable type or an FSTD representing that type.
- Justify knowledge related to examiner’s privileges
- Be liable of any suspension, limitation or license revocation during the last 3 years
A preliminary phone interview with the ICARE Head of training is organized.

(*) If a trainee is not qualified on the use of the IOS (Instructor Operating System) and simulator monitoring, a specific training will be provided. Duration: 2 hours

ASSESSMENT OF COMPETENCE
The applicant will have to pass an assessment of competence within the 12 months following the course completion. This will be managed directly by him and Authority and is not under ICARE responsibility.
