This course is intended for personnel of Part-145 approved maintenance organisations who are required to plan, perform, supervise, inspect and certify the maintenance of aircraft and fuel system components.

FTS Initial Training Level 2
Objectives
The course includes:
- The purpose of a fuel tank safety programme is to ensure that fuel tanks are designed, manufactured, installed, operated, and maintained in a way that minimises the risk of fire, explosion, and other hazards associated with fuel storage. This includes preventing leaks, controlling vapour emissions, and ensuring the structural integrity of the tanks.
- The description of the concept of fuel tank safety and CDCCL
- Shorts background showing examples of FTS accidents or incidents
- EWIS presentation
- CDCCL applied to aircraft specificities: CRJ100/200, CRJ700/900/1000.
This level is submitted to a recurrent course, every two years.
The trainee should, after the completion of the training :
- Understand the history of events relating to fuel tank safety issues and the theoretical elements of the subject, have an overview of the FAA regulations
- To be able to apply knowledge in a logical manner.
- To be able to identify the components or parts of the aircraft subject to FTS from the manufacturer’s documentation
- To be able to plan the action or apply a Service Bulletin and an Airworthiness Directive.
