SFI(A) A320 First Delivery

This training is for pilots who wish to act as SFI(A) (Synthetic Flight Instructor) on the AIRBUS A320.

Objectives

The aim of this course is to provide the applicant with the necessary assets to ensure a sufficient command of theoretical knowledge and various practices adapted to ground and simulator training, in order to be able to assume the privileges of an SFI(A). The applicant receives training in basic teaching methods, which is implemented during briefings, debriefings, and simulator sessions.

Prerequisites

Any applicant for a first SFI(A) certificate must:

  • Hold a CPL, MPL or ATPL pilot licence on the applicable aircraft category,
  • Have completed the proficiency check for the issue of the specific aircraft type rating in an FFS representing the applicable type (A320), within the 12 months preceding the application,
  • At least 1,500 hours flight time as a pilot on multi-pilot aeroplanes, as applicable.,
  • Have completed, as a pilot or as an observer, within the 12 months preceding the application, at least:
    • 3 route sectors on the flight deck of the applicable aircraft type; Or
    • Two line-orientated flight training-based simulator sessions conducted by qualified flight crew on the flight deck of the applicable type. These simulator sessions shall include two flights of at least two hours each between two different aerodromes, and the associated pre-flight planning and de-briefing.

ASSESSMENT OF COMPETENCE (AoC)

The applicant will have to complete, under the supervision of a TRE(A) or SFE(A), 03H00 of Full Flight Simulator training for the type rating of the aircraft concerned, in compliance with AMC1 FCL.935.
